Cacao Paste Pods | 100% Cacao

These Cacao Paste Pods started life as shade grown, naturally organic cacao beans from villages in the Pacific Islands. After harvesting, the cacao beans are centrally fermented, sun-dried, gently roasted and prepared into cacao nibs for MALVA Chocolate. On arrival in the coastal village of Ōākura, Taranaki, in micro batches the cacao nibs are stone ground with a little extra cacao butter to make a lusciously delicious, fruity and smooth, and nourishing 100% cacao paste that has been formed into cute and convenient Cacao Paste Pods.

The flavour profile modifies seasonally as the cacao beans change, and as these Cacao Paste Pods have been purposely left ‘untempered’ you may see beautiful marbling patterns of naturally occurring cacao butter shining through.

250g, approximately 35 Cacao Paste Pods per bag. Serves 8 per pack.  Average 30g per serve.

Cacao Paste Pods come packaged in a Home compostable kraft paper bag.

Ingredients:

Made with organic, ethically sourced, direct trade cacao.

Stone Ground 100% Cacao Paste (organically grown cacao beans, cacao butter).

Consciously absent colourants, fillers, preservatives, stabilisers. Soy and palm oil free. No detectable gluten.

Cacao Paste Pods are beautiful for eating and drinking. Store cool, dry and away from sunlight.

TO MAKE A SILKY-SMOOTH ENRICHING HOT CACAO DRINK: 

Add four Cacao Paste Pods to one cup of warm water or milk. Gently heat, stir and simmer, for a minute or so. Serve in your favourite cup.

Like it sweet? Add a tad of Honey or your favourite sweetener.

Like it spicy? Add a pinch of Cardamom, Chilli, Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Turmeric, or Vanilla.
